    Depremin ilk gününden itibaren yoğun olarak Kahramanmaraş’ın Elbistan ilçesinde sahipsiz sokak hayvanları için çalışmalar yapan Haydiko (Hayvanları Doğayı İnsanları Koruma ve Yaşatma Derneği) önderliğinde, hafta sonu 200 civarı sahipsiz sokak hayvanı kısırlaştırılırken, hayvanların parazit uygulamaları ve kuduz aşılamaları da yapıldı.

    KAHRAMANMARAŞ (İGFA) – Haydiko Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Yasemin Yılmaz, yaşanan büyük deprem sonrasında Elbistan Belediyesi ile yaptıkları işbirliği kapsamında depremin ilk günlerinden itibaren sahipsiz sokak hayvanlarının beslenmeleri, ihtiyaç duyulan sağlık hizmetlerinin verilmesi hususunda çalışmalar yaptıklarını anımsattı.

    Yılmaz, bu çalışmalara ek olarak hafta sonu başlattıkları kısırlaştırma çalışmalarıyla Elbistan’da hayvan sayısının kontrolsüzce artmasının önüne geçilmesinin hedeflendiğini duyurdu. Yılmaz, çalışmalarda kendileriyle iş birliği halinde çalışan, destek olan başta Elbistan Belediyesi olmak üzere tüm kurum ve kuruluşlara teşekkür etti.
